We visited Jerry's of Sanibel Supermarket and some surrounding shops nearby this afternoon to get a few snacks for our shelling cruise we are taking tomorrow at 8 a.m. The shopping center had an outdoor seating area surrounded by lush tropical plants, water fountain, and even a few parrots! You can grab drinks at PocoLoco coffee gelato, grocery shop at Jerry's Supermarket, or visit the individual shops like H2O, Footloose, Sanibel Surf Shop, Sanibel Diamond and more.
Mr. Jerry Jr. the Parrot himself.
Inside Jerry's there's every thing you need for stocking up your kitchen for a weeks stay. Some of the interesting selections that caught my eye were Annie's Homegrown Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks, and Triscut's Baked Whole Wheat Grain Crackers. They also had really cute marine life biodegradeable suntan lotion bottles!
Really like the advertising done on the back of the box, plus the initiative to start planting a garden at home.
I would've gotten one if I needed some more suntan lotion...
At Jerry's they're encouraging their customers to start thinking "green" and use reusable recyclable grocery bags when they come to shop. We have been able to get 4 reusable bags already from the times we have bought $25 worth of food and used the Sunny Day Guide coupons provided inside for a free tote bag.
Great bags! They snap into little squares for easy storage and when you're ready to use them you just unsnap the buttons to fold out quick and easy.
On the lower level of Jerry's there is also a fresh water refill station. I happened to see a lady using it to refill her water jugs as we left the store. To refill it's only 30 cents a gallon and the front explains how you are helping to save the environment.
Wish we had some of these in Texas!
Well, the shops haven't got their reusable bag trend going on yet, but they do have really neat plastic bags! This one is from the Sanibel Surf Shop. The design and colors kind of make you not want to throw away the plastic bag if you think about it...
Found this T-shirt at the Sanibel Surf Shop! I really like the color and the beachcomber design. I was also able to use a coupon I found in the Sunny Day Guide for a Sanibel keychain. Hmmm, I feel a free giveaway for y'all coming soon.
Make sure to keep up with the latest blog posts! Just 3 more days before I have to say goodbye to the sandy beaches of Captiva and Sanibel.
